Where the Heck is Sonoita, AZ?

Sonoita is a small town an hour south of  Downtown Tucson. It sits at 5,000 feet elevation and is home to numerous wineries and ranches to explore. The higher elevation keeps Sonoita a lot cooler than the Tucson area, which makes it a beautiful place to visit in the Springtime. Please see our Things To Do page for more information about activities to do while in town.

Which Airport?

Tucson International Airport is the closest airport to fly in to. It is a 45 minute drive to Sonoita, AZ from the airport.

Where to Stay?

Please see our Lodging Page for lodging recommendations

Where is the Reception?

The reception will be held in Pioneer Hall at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds (commonly known as The Sonoita Fairgrounds)

Directions

Where to Park?

Please park at the Sonoita Fairgrounds for both the ceremony and reception. We will have a shuttle service that takes guests to the 6 BAR B Ranch from the fairgrounds for the ceremony and back to the fairgrounds after the ceremony.

Where is the Ceremony?

The ceremony will be held at the 6 BAR B Ranch. This is a family-owned ranch graciously hosted by Kirstie's parents. There is only private access to the ranch, and we will have a shuttle service to get everyone from the Sonoita Fairgrounds to the ranch and back after the ceremony.

What is the Attire?

We are leaning into the Western Theme, so feel free to bring your cowboy hats, fancy jeans, boots, and sundresses! If you're a city mouse and don't have Western Wear, don't feel the need to dress up too fancy. Dressy Casual Attire is perfect (Dressy Casual Attire Guide). Check your socks for holes, run a comb through your hair, and take a shower.

Are Children Invited?

Yes, your children are invited! All family members should be populated on the RSVP form, and you can mark them as Attending or Not Attending.

What is the Weather Like?

April is a beautiful month in Sonoita with highs from 70-80 degrees and lows from 40-50 degrees. While there is a low chance of rain, there might be a lot of wind at the outdoor wedding ceremony. The ceremony will be outdoors while the reception will be indoors. The dance floor and bar are outdoors but fully covered from the elements.
